Human pests attack gates
Due to vandalism on Boxing Day, one of the entrance gates is temporarily out of action. As we do not want to prevent public use of the reserve we have taken the risk of operating one gate only. To minimise risk of pest entry and further vandalism, the reserve will be closed at night between the hours of 8:30pm and 8am. This is a temporary measure until we can obtain gate replacement parts. Unfortunately no camping will be possible during this time for safety reasons. Please help us to stomp out undesirable behaviour so that we can all continue to enjoy Rotokare. Report suspicious persons and vehicle registrations to local police, or do not hesitate to call emergency services on 111 if required. Surveillance cameras will be installed as soon as possible. We hugely appreciate your support and patience – enjoy your visit  Many thanks from Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust & South Taranaki District Council.
